RAS
The filter that shaped FIMIC’s history
RAS is the FIMIC automatic self-cleaning melt filter designed to adapt perfectly to your needs.
Configurable according to the material to be processed, hourly throughput, contamination level, and required filtration grade, it is FIMIC’s most recognized product and still today a symbol of a technology that established us as an international reference in plastic recycling.
With more than 600 units installed worldwide – from Canada to New Zealand – RAS represents a success story and proof of the value of Italian engineering in plastics recycling.
Every detail matters
RAS stands out thanks to its automatic scraping system that works without interruption, maintaining consistent filtration quality.
Each component is designed to last, simplify maintenance, and reduce downtime.
45 mm breaker – main support for melt pressure and screen
8 mm Special breaker – increases filtration surface for fine filtrations
Laser or punched screen: available in different sizes to meet each specific needs
FIMIC scraper: the core of the melt filter, ensuring the efficiency of the scraping process.
Choosing the right filter
Selecting the correct filter means getting the most out of your recycling process.
Clearly compare the available options:
Filtration: 60–300 micron
Filtration: 400–2000 micron

How RAS works
Two internal blades scrape away the contamination retained by the filter, while the scraper collects it and directs it to the discharge device.
Once the cycle is complete, the contaminated material is automatically discharged through the front valve.
The system can operate in two modes:
When the set pressure is reached, the scraper begins to rotate at the selected speed, collects contamination, and opens the valve only at the end of a full rotation, ensuring a clean and effective operation.
Continuous mode
In case of high contamination, the scraper rotates constantly at low speed, while the front valve opens only when necessary, managed by a timer that regulates the discharge intervals.
The features that made RAS a worldwide success
